organic waste recycle bin

FAQ

Organic waste recycle, compost Bins, smart, odourless recycle bin

.

Question 10:

I found tiny flies in the green bin last week. What do I do ?

Answer:

This is not house flies, it is Fungus gnats.

This only happens if you keep organic waste  longer than 4 weeks and temperature is between 13-20℃.

Press TEST key for 3 seconds ONCE  and let it go.

Then, the Forced Run is activated.  This will drive the temperature to very low point and get flies killed.

And it will return to normal running model after 8 hours automatically.

Question 9:

Odourless Recycle Bin or Compost Bins,  which  is better ?

Answer:

Both ways are working good in organic waste recycle.

If you are using compost bins in your garden, or anywhere within  your property, pests and flies are problems. And, odours sometimes pop up. But it costs less.

If using a Canfresh, you cost a little bit, like 20 cents a day in summer. You just need to put organic waste  into the bin, all the remains is up to the city.

Actually, cities process composting in the industrial standard: cleaner, more efficient and more sustainable.

For those people who don't spend much time in garden works, Canfresh is the best.

Question 8:

The RED light was flashing , How do we deal with this?

Answer:

When the RED light flashes, the system stops working and foul smells will occur within hours on hot days.

This may be because the movable green bin is not completely coupled with the ventilation hole.

When you position the green bin, you have to TILT it,  push toward the fixed part and rock it slightly back and forth.

Keep tilting and pushing until  the RED light  is  OFF.

Keep Slightly Tilting and Pushing until RED light OFF

Question 7:

I have tried you your suggestion "Keep Tilting and Pushing",  but it didn’t help.

Answer:

  1. This may be because the floor is too smooth or slippery to hold the green bin in position.
  2. Please place a used mat or rug underneath the green bin.
canfesh FAQs
A used mat or rug with turf texture will hold the green bin in position.

The size of the mat or rug should be large than 22 in X 22 in (55 cm X 55 cm) , that will hold the can steady.

Keep tilting or rocking the can slightly until the RED light is OFF.

Question 6:

Can I put powdery waste such as cat litter in the container ?

Answer:

Please don’t place powdery material directly into your container.

The system uses forced ventilation inside the container. If there is powdery material inside, it will choke the ventilation system and damage the equipment.

However, if you wrap the powder up completely with paper,  it is acceptable.

Unfortunately, Canfresh does not eliminate the smell of cat litter.

Question 5:

How can I get rid of the stale air smells in my garage ?

Answer:

This is much easier than dealing with refrigerator odours. A 30-second ventilation is sufficient. As soon as you open the main door, the smell is gone. When temperature is below 20 ℃, the odour is hardly to be noticeable. In most cases, this kind of smell is distinctive and never becomes foul.

Any way,  this is much better than the smells coming from an ordinary green bin or any compost bins.

Question 4:

We experienced foul odours last Sunday; it was 25 ℃ and a normal day. Why?

Answer:

When the system stops working, foul smells will occur in less than 12 hours, just as an ordinary bin. There are 3 possible reasons that make this happen:

  1. The green bin is not in working position, or it is not firmly coupled with the fixed equipment.
  2. When the green bin is out of working position, the system stops working. The RED light flashes.
  3. A power supply failure, or someone accidentally switched off the power or unplugged the equipment.
  4. The equipment itself has failed; in this case, please call our service.

Question 3

There are still flies flying around in my garage. Why?

Answer:

There is a small hole on top of the container lid in some models; it is a fly trap.

Flies usually get into the container by tracing the food, but they will never get out again. The flies will be deactivated hours later due to sharp temperature and humidity changes. They will never be able to lay eggs and develop maggots inside the container.

However, flies are drawn to food and track it. It is much better than compost bins or ordinary green bins. Only better ventilation of you garage will help in getting rid of flies completely.

Question 2:

How much organic waste can I put into the container each time?

Answer:

  1. Canfresh Basic takes up to 3 lbs. of organic waste each day;   this usually meets the needs of a family of up to 4 persons. However, there is no problem if you deposit more. Canfresh will handle it.
  2. The more waste you add each time, the longer time it takes to cool down and dry up. Sometimes, this creates more smells, but the organic waste never goes foul as it does in an ordinary green bin.

Question 1:
